Terms of Service
These terms govern shipping services provided by Pan Logistics & Shipping ("we", "us"), a freight consolidator operating between Edmonton, Canada and Douala, Cameroon. By booking a shipment you agree to them.
1. Our service
We consolidate customer cargo into shared sea containers, arrange ocean carriage with third-party carriers, and handle customs filings and clearance in Douala through our clearing agent. We may substitute carriers, vessels and routings as operations require.
Vehicles are booked as separate (RoRo) shipments and are always priced by appointment.
2. Quotes and final invoice
Online estimates are indicative. Your final invoice is issued after we receive, measure and weigh your goods at our warehouse; it is based on the rate card in force at the time of booking. Chargeable volume/weight is what we measure, not what was estimated.
Quoted transit times are estimates, not guarantees — vessel schedules, customs processing and inspections are outside our control.
3. Deposits, payment and cancellation
A deposit is due at booking. The balance is due before your goods are loaded into a container (DDP), or split between the prepaid portion and destination charges collected in XAF on delivery (CIF). Cancellations before container loading are refunded less costs already incurred (documentation, filings, handling). Once your goods are loaded, freight charges are non-refundable.
4. Prohibited and restricted items
We do not carry: illegal goods; hazardous materials (flammables, compressed gases, undeclared batteries); counterfeit goods; currency or negotiable instruments; perishables without prior arrangement. Used vehicles more than 10 model-years old are refused — Cameroon customs seizes them at the port of Douala.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your cargo description and declared value. We may inspect or refuse any cargo. Penalties arising from misdeclaration (including Cameroonian ECTN penalties of up to 200% of cargo value) are for the shipper's account.
5. Declared value, insurance and liability
Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the lesser of the declared value of the affected goods and the cost of repair or replacement. Optional cargo insurance is available at the rate shown on your quote and applies only to the declared value.
We are not liable for delays, customs decisions, or events beyond our reasonable control (carrier schedule changes, port congestion, force majeure), nor for indirect or consequential losses. Visible damage must be noted at handoff; claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of delivery.
6. Delivery, pickup and storage
We notify you and your recipient when a shipment is ready. Pickups should be collected within 14 days of the ready notice; storage fees may apply afterwards. Deliveries and pickups are confirmed with the delivery code sent to the recipient. Goods unclaimed after 90 days may be disposed of or sold to cover charges, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Notice.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. The courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the version published at the time of booking applies to your shipment. Questions: ops@panlogistics.ca.
